3. Apply your brakes gently. If you do not have anti-lock brake and feel a skid, try pumping the brakes.

4. Have a safety pack in your car. This could include a blanket, food, candle and flashlight.

Many people believe that it is necessary for a dog to have attacked or bitten before to make an owner responsible.  The Dog Owners’ Liability Act, specifically says that the liability of the owner does not depend upon knowledge of the propensity or fault or negligence on the part of the owner. Always wear a seatbelt.  Many brain injuries arise from car accidents.  Wearing a seatbelt reduces the risk of serious injuries from a car accident.  In Ontario it’s the law to wear your seatbelt every time you are in a car.
